Frequently asked questions
What counts as a 'post'?
Each platform delivery counts as one post. If you send to Twitter, LinkedIn, and Bluesky in a single request, that counts as 3 posts. Scheduled posts are counted when they are delivered, not when they are created.
What happens if I exceed my monthly post limit?
On paid plans you'll be charged the per-post overage rate for any posts above your limit. On the Free plan, requests will be rejected once your 100-post limit is reached. You'll receive an email warning at 80% usage.
Can I connect multiple social accounts?
Yes. Each connected account (e.g. two different Twitter accounts) counts toward your account limit. On Growth, Scale, and Enterprise plans there is no account limit.
What is the MCP server?
The Model Context Protocol server lets AI agents like Claude, GPT-4o, and others call SocialRelay as a tool directly, without you writing glue code. It ships with a pre-built tool definition and structured error types.
What does 'partial success' mean?
If one platform returns an error (e.g. a rate limit from Twitter), SocialRelay will still deliver to all other platforms and return a per-platform status map. You get a 207 Multi-Status response so you can handle retries surgically.
How does the dry-run endpoint work?
POST to /v1/posts?dry_run=true and SocialRelay will validate your content against every platform's current rules (character limits, media specs, restricted words) without actually posting anything. Returns validation errors per platform.
Do you offer annual billing?
Yes — annual plans come with two months free (effectively a 17% discount). Switch any paid plan to annual from your billing settings.
Is there a free trial on paid plans?
Starter, Growth, and Scale plans all include a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. You'll be prompted to add a payment method before the trial ends.
